It Got Four Votes
There are no ambiguities in the language of the 14th amendment. But when Trump asked the Supreme Court to rule that it did not say what it plainly did, four went along with him.
“All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”
Why did the four side with the tyrant instead of the Constitution? The question should not lead one to investigate what tendentious arguments Sam Alito pulled out of his ass, but rather why we allow them to rule on anything when this is how nakedly they support the tyrant.
